Identity Development

Engaging with the world isn’t easy.

Loneliness is at an all-time high, and making friends is harder than ever. AI is easier to use, and the constant barrage of news and updates makes canceling plans, ordering DoorDash, and binging Netflix feel like heaven.

The space you occupy might feel like your own, allowing you to do great work. Currently, social media looks aesthetically pleasing. However, you might spend considerable time wondering, “Does anyone really know me? Do I even know myself? Is it worth getting close to anyone if relationships end, people die, and bad things happen to good people?”

It’s easy to shut down and shut the world out, but easy isn’t always better. At the same time, it’s not like you haven’t tried.

The videos you see on TikTok depict seemingly healthy individuals touting a 5-9 routine, healthy food, a Pilates membership, and frequent trips around the world. You incorporate some of those things into your life, but they still feel empty. Out of desperation, you cut your bangs, hit the gym, and even use dating apps despite your hatred of them.

Navigating life alone is exhausting.

All the high-functioning, seemingly confident people around you make it seem like they got the manual to life, and you didn’t. Asking for help feels embarrassing, and even if it didn’t, you don’t want to burden the people around you who are either just as busy, just as confused, or altogether distant.

I went at it alone for a long time. Having two loving parents who were deeply traumatized made my childhood incredibly lonely. I got the good grades, followed all the rules, got married “the right way,” and was crippled by panic attacks and a deep sense of discontentment.

Then I went to therapy and everything changed. It altered my life so much that once I felt better, I worked to figure out if I could pay it back and do this too.

Ten years later, and my days are mostly spent helping others find their voice.

We can help you find your voice.

I don’t believe we should live in this world alone. Community is at the core of the human spirit. Movies, books, and songs are all about loving someone, uniting together, and making a change.

So why don’t we do it in real life? Comparison, trauma, and systems designed to stifle exploration are a big part of it. My job is to shed light on the impact of those experiences and institutions, and to help you find your way through and out of them.

In the space I offer, you can express yourself openly and ask many direct questions to start practicing using your voice. We will build a language that makes it easier for you to connect with yourself and connect with others.

Together, our goal is to rewrite the story you’ve written about yourself, the world, and your future, and build resilience to tackle whatever comes your way.

Here are my goals for you.

Crisis Management or Identifying the Problem: Oftentimes, people seek therapy because they are at their wits’ end. They just ended a relationship, left their childhood home, and have a child who keeps misbehaving at school. The first phase of therapy is giving the client space to express and begin analyzing what has led to this place.

Skill and insight development: The crisis feels less overwhelming when clients start using the skills they learn in therapy, reflect on their experiences, and begin making sense of the patterns in their lives.

Maintenance: Clients become able to regulate their emotions and make decisions for themselves.

Things won’t get easier; you’ll get stronger.

Making new friends, making more confident decisions, and learning to be vulnerable will become less daunting. You’ll have boundaries in place to make trusting others and yourself less scary. You will connect more deeply to your values, which will help you be more confident in your choices.

The skills we use will help reframe your thoughts, engage in healthier behaviors, and reinforce your “why.”

You will see the benefit of allowing a person in. I will not take that trust for granted.

My favorite thing about therapy is that it gives us a chance to experiment and explore who we are. Reach out and schedule a consultation call. There’s no judgment, no pressure, no performance metrics.

Real change starts here.

You don’t have to keep carrying this on your own.

Healing is possible – for you and for the people you care about most. Whether you’re ready to work through deep wounds or support your child through their struggles, the next step can start today.
